Thank you to all our donors for your gracious support!

The team at Slow Food Barbados is pleased to announce that we exceeded our fundraising goals at our Educational Garden programme fundraising “Cocktails and Canapes” fundraiser, with an approximate total of $19, 225.00 raised so far!

We could not have achieved these results without YOU, and our community business partners who provided giveaways and prizes to support fundraising efforts.

Thank you 13° North Productions Inc. for the photographs.

Our undying gratitude and thanks goes to Foursquare Rum Distillery and Heritage Park, One Eleven East Beach Club, Adriana Hurban, Always Summer, Banz Barbados, Caribbean Permaculture Research Institute, Cobblers Cove Hotel, Coral Reef Club, Corrie Scott, Earthworks Pottery, ECO Lifestyle + Lodge, Grow It!, Heather Harrington Jones, Hunte’s Gardens, Juan Carlos de la Hoz, Kirk Brown, Kite, La Cabane, Little Good Harbour, Mel Blomgren, Oasis Laboratories, PEG Farm and Chrysalis Cafe, Pure Source, Sandbox Tree Spa, The Sandpiper, Above and Below Scuba, Shebakafra, Silver Moon Catamarans, St. Lucy Botanicals, The Loft Spa, Saint Nicholas Abbey, The Cliff Beach Club, The Crate Barbados, The Garden Shed, The Loft Spa, The Mews Restaurant, VegCo., and Walker’s Reserve – thank you so much for your contributions!

Thanks to your donations and your attendance, this has been the single biggest contribution to the Slow Food Barbados Educational Gardens Programme to date, which puts 2019 on track to be our largest donation year ever.

Your donations and support will help us to strengthen and grow the Educational Gardens programme throughout Barbados, and to reconnect youth to where food comes from. We hope to foster an increased appreciation for food, environment, culture and community in the next generation. It costs BDS$1,500.00 per year to maintain a school garden and we currently support 17 gardens in schools around the island.  We are focussing on strengthening the support offered to the existing gardens, by providing seedlings, materials and ongoing training by top regional and local professionals through workshops.

Here’s to developing a sustainable food system that is good, clean and fair – thanks to generous people like you!

With deep gratitude,

The Slow Food Barbados team
