Slow Food Barbados is honored to celebrate 10 years of service to Barbados and its communities and traditions. Ten years of Farm-to-table events, Educational School Gardens, Slow Fish, Cine Cuisine, Community Resources such as our Buyer’s Guide and Sustainable Seafood Guide, our #SlowSeven eat local food challenge and our latest initiative, the Slow Soup Drive which has now served over 50,000 bowls of nutritious soup to vulnerable members of our community.

Come toast the last ten years and help us to continue serving our communities
at an evening of gratitude and giving:
The Golden Gala: “Celebrating 10 Years Toward Food Independence”
a night of music, auctions and fabulous local food featuring four of Barbados’ top chefs with food directly from local farmers, fishermen and growers who are excited about food sovereignty and the environment. We are raising money to continue our efforts, especially the Slow Soup Drive, aiding the most vulnerable in our communities by creating a closed loop system.
What your support means:
Through the pandemic, we launched the Slow Soup Drive, and pivoted our Educational School Garden model to virtual programming. We strove to continue our legacy of excellence in our communities, during the hardest of times, and at a cost. Without in-person events to drive vital funding these programmes have fallen short of the impact we dream of...
and we have BIG dreams...

Our Educational School Garden model now includes the virtual Regenerative School Bus curriculum and we are also in the embryonic stage of creating Model Regenerative Gardens at a few select locations around the island, these gardens will serve as a kickstart to reignite interest in educational gardens in schools throughout the island. Gardens which need support to ‘get in the ground’.
Although the Slow Soup Drive is in the midst of implementing several ways to create sustainability through social enterprise, right now we are unable to serve two of our parishes who are most in need. We are at a critical point where we need funds to hire drivers and keep us on the road.
do something powerful for your community.
Our event is sold out for this year! please make a general donation toward our initiatives to ensure that your support is still felt deeply throughout the communities we serve!
