Our work in the community falls under three campaigns: Educational Gardens, Slow Fish, and Chef Alliance. In addition, we organize 'signature' fundraising events including Farm to Table dinners, and our annual Garden Gala, as well as participating in many local events, spreading awareness through educational publications and merchandise.
All proceedings benefit our campaigns and local organic small scale farmers.
Educational School Gardens
Slow Food Barbados Educational Gardens Programme aims to reconnect youth with where their food comes from by teaching them how to grow, cook and enjoy real food.
We focus on promoting sustainable fishing methods, supporting responsible artisanal fisherfolk and providing opportunities for public participation with cooking demos and competitions.
#SlowSeven Local Food Challenge
The #SlowSeven local food challenge encourages people to eat local for one week. That means, only using ingredients that are locally grown, caught, raised and produced.
